The Downer Thin Surfacing business is seeking a motivated and strategic leader to join the management team as the Compliance & Business Improvement Manager working out of our Brisbane Airport and/or Pinkenba locations in Queensland. In this critical role, you will drive the implementation and ongoing enhancement of management systems, governance frameworks, and compliance processes across the business.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will provide expert guidance in governance, assurance, and risk management, with a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement. Your leadership will be instrumental in embedding a culture of innovation, accountability, and knowledge sharing.

This role is also responsible for fostering strong stakeholder engagement, coaching internal teams, collaborating with business partners, and working closely with customers to enhance organisational capability and improve performance.

ABOUT YOU

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Health & Safety or related discipline. Over 10 years leadership experience, ideally in Health & Safety within high-risk sectors such as construction or infrastructure. Proven experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of Integrated Management Systems. Demonstrated ability to lead in complex, dynamic and cross-functional environments. High level of problem solving with the ability to deal with complex situations. Ability to positively influence change and communicate effectively with multiple types of stakeholders. High level of planning and organisational skills to meet business objectives and timelines.
