How will you make an impact in this role?
In our European Consumer Compliance Organization, we are looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our European Payments Regulatory Compliance Team.
This position will play a critical role within the European Compliance Organization to drive the response to the ever-changing Payments regulatory framework in the Region, with a specific focus on EU Regulations and their impacts on EU Member States, and will be key to build, manage, and lead an effective European framework for compliance with applicable laws and regulations in key sectors such as Payment Services and Consumer Protection.
Beside supporting the Compliance Manager and the EMEA Market Compliance Officers Community, this position will also work in close cooperation with other departments such as the General Counsel's Organization (GCO), Government Affairs, Line of Business Compliance and Risk and Control Management to build a common platform across European markets and facilitate the adoption of a consistent Compliance strategy and oversight (including impact identification, requirements building).
This position will also facilitate awareness, communication and escalation of matters related to payments regulations, so that risk can be promptly understood and timely mitigated by the Company.
Primary Responsibilities:
Providing centralized Compliance support and advice across EMEA on key regulatory projects in the payment services sector for the Consumer business (e.g. PSD2, IFR, SEPA, EU Retail Payments, Digital Finance Strategy and Consumer Agenda, Consumer Credit Directive) and with a specific focus on non-AML EU Regulations and their impacts on EU Member States, to determine compliance strategies and internal policies and procedures;Supporting the Compliance Manager in delivering an early Compliance impact assessment of new regulations, to ensure the timely implementation of requirements and controls through the RCM process;Supporting the Compliance Manager in building documentation and accelerating the harmonization of compliance requirements across EU marketsFacilitating awareness, communication and escalation of matters related to payments regulation, supporting responses to actual or potential risks;Identifying key risks for the Region and providing regulatory assessment and rationale for risk scoring;Providing interpretation of the EU-wide regulatory requirements and reporting instructions and support the business in - validation of the proposed logic, - assessment and escalation of identified risks; - addressing any queries from supervisory authorities (central or local)Policy & Procedures oversight / Audit support: drafting second-line policies and procedures driven by EU-level regulation, updating in case of impacting regulatory change, addressing any audit queries regarding interpretation of requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in compliance and regulatory matters, preferably in banks/financial institutions;University degree (a degree in Law is preferred);Significant and proven experience advising on EU Payment Services (particularly non-AML regulations such as PSD2 and the Consumer Credit Directive) and Consumer Protection-related regulations;Excellent interpersonal skills at local & international levels; Excellent organizational and planning skills; Self-motivated and positive thinker, creative and team-player;Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure constant project monitoring and execution;Ability to work under pressure with multiple tasksFluent English and Spanish, both spoken and written. Knowledge of additional European languages is a plus.
