The Role
The Completions & Handover Support Engineer will ensure handover and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality and time parameters to meet the needs of the Project. The role reports directly to the OCC Manager and is responsible for the direction of activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of a contract or work package assigned to them.
You will be part of a team that is responsible for coordinating and delivering systems and work scopes from the Installation programme to the Commissioning programme and onwards to the Operations team.
As a member of the Commissioning team, you'll play a key role in the delivery and handover of systems and equipment which are at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant engineering projects. The nature of the role is to provide support to the OCC Manager and Senior Handover Engineer along with the wider OCC team while also working independently in some areas to ensure the effective delivery of systems and equipment form the Installation programme, as well as recognising and managing any issues, delays or impacts on the wider Project schedule. Your ability to build effective relationships across programme boundaries will be extremely important – particularly with the Completions Team and the Alliance.
Our Clients and Projects
Designing the future. Transforming the world.
Hinkley Point C (HPC) is a major infrastructure project encompassing the design, construction and commissioning of two European Pressure Reactors (EPR’s) in the South-West of England.
The Project is of significant importance to the UK’s future energy requirements, being the first to be built in the UK for over 25 years and is designed to operate for 60 years. When in operation it will deliver circa 3,260MW of secure low carbon energy to the UK energy network, which is enough energy to power approximately 6 million UK homes. The Project also represents a significant investment in the UK nuclear industry and the related technical supply chains.
Hinkley Point C is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of Nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. The HPC Commissioning Team is expanding in preparation for the commissioning of Hinkley Point C, the first nuclear power station to be built in a generation.
