**COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE SENIOR ASSOCIATE**

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
In this vital role, you will lead Competitive Intelligence (CI) gathering to support US and Global marketing teams on pipeline obesity assets, synthesizing insights from multiple sources to shape strategic recommendations.
As a strategic partner you will provide deep expertise on the obesity competitive landscape, define business problems, and develop integrated analysis plans grounded in standard methodologies. You will engage in high-level discussions with brand, corporate, and cross-functional teams, delivering clear perspectives on key competitive developments, implications for Amgen, and recommended actions, while operating in a matrix environment.
**The responsibilities of the role will include:**
+ Apply structured problem-solving to gather, analyze, and report CI using primary and secondary sources.
+ Deliver insights on market dynamics and their business impact as well as present analyses and recommendations to key stakeholders.
+ Lead strategic exercises and competitive simulations to shape company plans.
+ Coordinate CI collection at key medical conferences and congresses.
+ Build and maintain a network of primary data sources (vendors, internal partners).
+ Ensure accuracy, relevance, and quality of CI findings; communicate evidence levels clearly.
+ Expand CI/strategy support across organizational functions.
+ Uphold Amgen’s CI Legal and Ethical Guidelines.
+ Travel requirement: 15–20%.

**WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU**
Our ideal candidate is a strategic team player with a focus on structure and critical thinking with problem solving, result oriented, project management and analytical skills.
**Minimum requirements:**
+ +3 years of competitive intelligence/consulting/equity research/industry experience.
+ University Degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, healthcare or related field.
+ Proficiency in English (written and spoken) with strong presentation skills.
+ Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ Experience in insights generation for the biopharmaceutical (or other healthcare) industries.
+ Proven track record of influencing key business decisions through thoughtful insights and recommendations.
+ Strong understanding of the latest developments and trends in the Obesity space, key competitive dynamics and unmet medical needs is a plus.
+ Understanding of at least one other functional area in Customer Data and Analytics (CD&A) (e.g. forecasting, market research, and secondary analytics).
