Competence Development Specialist / Manager, KONE Technology and Innovation (12 months fixed-term contract)

We’re now looking for

an interim Competence Development Specialist / Manager, KONE Technology and Innovation (12 months fixed-term contract)

starting in Q3 2025, to support technology competence development across KTI globally.

This position is in the R&D Office team, which plays a key role in technology and product strategy, market and competition intelligence, portfolio management and operational & competence development. While based in this team, the Competence Development Specialist / Manager contributes to all units within KTI globally.

Competence Development Specialist / Manager will work closely with KTI leadership teams and main responsibilities include maintaining and driving the KTI competence development roadmap, collaborating with tech experts, and implementing development programs in selected focus areas. Excellent communication skills are essential for building internal competence communities and encouraging knowledge sharing. Competence Development Specialist / Manager will also contribute to technical career paths and explore new learning opportunities.

Location for this role is in Espoo/Hyvinkää, Finland, with remote working opportunities for few days a week.

Responsibilities and key activities

-Maintain the competence development roadmap for KTI, identifying priority areas and key development programs, and ensuring execution with internal and external tech experts

-Run the TechX talent program for KTI experts

-Implement and coordinate selected development programs in close collaboration with KTI tech experts, leaders, and our global Learning & Development network

-Support expert career path development with our People & Communications team, helping identify growth and learning opportunities

-Activate internal competence communities and promote active knowledge sharing across KTI teams

-Communicate and promote internal and external tech and innovation learning opportunities

-Track the implementation and impact of priority programs and certifications

Experience & skills needed

-Previous experience in tech-related competence development from high tech company/companies is considered a plus

-Experience and knowledge in various learning methods is considered a plus

-Some experience in developing agile and digital competencies, with a hands-on background in collaborating with software and agile teams being highly desirable

-Exceptional communication, facilitation, and influencing skills and previous experience of working with external partners, preferably start-ups

-Familiarity with external trends in tech competence development, knowledge sharing, and the evolution of expert organizations, preferably with a track record of creating innovative pathways for tech experts to expand their skills

-Fluent in English, both written and spoken

-Relevant university degree or equivalent qualification

-Open-minded with a sense of humor, contributing to a positive and dynamic work environment
