Job Description
The Compensation Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the administration and data maintenance for the hourly non-exempt workforce, focusing on production and maintenance technicians. The role emphasizes ensuring accurate compensation data, maintaining step progression for hourly employees, and aligning pay practices with both organizational and market standards. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key member of a start-up team, launching a new facility from the ground up.
ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain accurate hourly wages for production and maintenance staff using Workday's step progression functionality.Verify service dates for hourly employees to ensure alignment with compensation and tenure requirements.Populate and maintain Employee Information Validations in Workday for salaried and hourly populations, including data for salaries, base pay, and compensation changes.Administer annual salary programs, including incentive payouts and salary increase programs.Analyze compensation survey data, benchmark company roles against market trends, and recommend adjustments to maintain competitive pay practices.Utilize Microsoft Excel with advanced formula knowledge to analyze and report on compensation data, create models, and ensure data accuracy.Collaborate with HR Business Partners, payroll administrators, and other departments to execute compensation initiatives effectively.Provide guidance on compensation-related inquiries.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in compensation analysis or administration.Solid working knowledge of compensation principles and best practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formula knowledge (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, and conditional formatting).Proficiency in Workday, specifically in compensation modules and reporting.Ability to handle moderately complex issues and demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in manufacturing or automotive industries.Knowledge of short-term and long-term incentive programs and how they align with overall Total Rewards strategies.Proven ability to collaborate across departments and manage competing priorities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $41.00/hr.
