Job Description:
Join Sage as a Compensation Lead, where you’ll drive the compensation strategy for your client group, partnering closely with People Business Partners and business leaders. You'll shape effective reward investments that attract, retain, and motivate talent, while enhancing the colleague experience through human-centered design. You'll also support and coach People team colleagues in implementing compensation programs across the business.
This role is a 14 month fixed term contract.
This is a hybrid position working in the office 3 days a week and 2 from home.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accountable for compensation in their client group, executing on the programme of work agreed with the Compensation Director.
• Responsible for project planning and management of compensation-related projects, overseeing the work of external compensation consultants where required, directing the development of communications materials, determining programme implementation requirements and working with People Services to define compensation processes.
• Proactively identify efficiencies for the area you support and challenge business leaders when appropriate while working with the Reward CoE to find solutions.
• Accountable for executing on the annual pay, bonus and LTIP review, ensuring the best value is achieved from the spend for the area supported.
• Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of global compensation programmes & policies by providing local insights and priorities. Leads the design and development of specific compensation programmes on behalf of the Group.
• Proactively partners on compensation projects and programmes with People Business Partners, business managers, Finance, Legal, Compliance and People Services.
• Supports the People Business Partners to ensure global compensation projects are successfully and properly implemented in the client group they support.
• Works closely with the People Business Partners & Talent Acquisition team to identify and manage compensation issues related to recruitment/ retention/ development of talent and any regulatory matters related to employee compensation.
Skills, know-how and experience:
• Compensation experience with a strong background in international compensation.
• Experience in managing projects, defining processes and implementing compensation programmes involving base pay and short-term variable pay and stock-based compensation.
• Proven expertise in design and development of compensation programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships with individual stakeholders and groups at senior level and become a trusted and credible working partner, educating and influencing business leaders.
• Proven ability to operate in an HR shared services model.
• Excellent strategic, analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills.
• Strong coaching skills and ability to translate compensation concepts into practical, easy-to-use tools for colleagues.
• An understanding of market pay dynamics.
