The Compensation Director will lead a team who oversees compensation for approximately 35,000 staff. The role provides direct coaching and supervision to a team of broad-based compensation professionals and works closely with Total Rewards Partners to ensure sector support.
The Compensation Director will prioritize, direct, and directly execute on compensation strategies for BAE Systems Inc. and support on design, development and administration of compensation programs and strategies.
This individual will foster a team environment and a strong service culture that ensures engaging communications and delivery of timely and quality driven service to internal customers.
**In this role, you will:**
+ Ensure development, implementation and management of strategic compensation programs and solutions that align with organizational goals/objectives while ensuring cost effectiveness and efficiency of programs;
+ Collaborate with Total Rewards Partners to ensure programs and services are delivered with the appropriate performance levels, ensure effectiveness of existing compensation practices, and recommend changes consistent with compensation trends and company objectives;
+ Oversee job architecture govern adjustments while adhering to market practices and system integrity. Individual will be responsible for implementation of revised job architecture to include title, levels, career frameworks, description and alignment to other HR programs (structures, skills, performance);
+ Review design of annual compensation planning process to include incentives, recognition, retention, salary structures, benchmarking, and budgets. Provide recommendations to business on effective utilization of programs to best support priorities while keeping a cost competitive mindset;
+ Responsible for development and compliance of Inc. compensation program policies, practices, and delegation of authority. Ensure legislation and compliance changes are reviewed, communicated to sectors and implemented. (FLSA, minimum wage etc.);
+ Manage support for audits and sector program proposal development;
+ Insititute effective project management and change management to ensure timely delivery of compensation programs while improving HR, employees and managers' knowledge, appreciation, and effective use of compensation offerings;
+ Provide leadership, coaching and development opportunities for compensation team members.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor s degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience;
+ 3 years leadership experience required;
+ Proven in communicating sensitive information and having the ability to influence beliefs or opinions with leadership and business units;
+ Strong experience with job architecture, compensation programs and incentive plan administration required;
+ Strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations as they apply to compensation programs;
+ Strong quantitative and analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of compensation administration;
+ Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and HRIS Systems.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Master s Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience OR in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required;
+ Human Resources or Business-related Degree Preferred;
+ Experience working in a large matrixed and global organization, manufacturing, aerospace, defense and/or high-tech/engineering;
+ Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and legislative factors impacting compensation & rewards programs including the FLSA, Service Contract Act, and Davis-Bacon Act;
+ World at Work Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), and/or SHRM SCP highly preferred.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $154815 - $263185
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
