Compensation Analyst

Job Description

What is the Opportunity?
In this role you will deliver payroll to our IRP Sales Force, you will be the lead subject matter expert of the audit and control measures for the Incentive Compensation Delivery programs ensuring adherence to compensation standards and guidelines.   You will investigate and resolve inquiries and disputes raised by sales professionals related to compensation processing outcomes, as well as escalations requesting exception to aforementioned compensation standards and guidelines.

Incentive Compensation Delivery (ICD) delivers variable-based compensation across 37 different professional sales roles representing 13,000 employees across Personal Banking & Commercial Banking and Wealth Management in North America.  The team is comprised of over 75 employees responsible for the administration, service, reporting, statement production and payment processing of over $3 billion in compensation annually.    

In this role you will be the lead subject matter expert of the audit and control measures ensuring adherence to compensation standards and guidelines, mitigation of risk and verifying conformity to regulatory standards. You will be responsible for payroll, investigate and resolve inquiries and disputes raised by sales professionals related to compensation processing outcomes, as well as escalations requesting exception to aforementioned compensation standards and guidelines.

What will you do?  

Create, quality check and remit bi-weekly payroll files prior to deadline and follow for confirmation the file has been accepted and processed without error by HR Payroll prior to processing cutoff, promptly remediating any errors reported. 

Develop a deep knowledge of Compensation Programs and Administrative Guidelines and provide expert advice and guidance on complex case process execution to identify, implement, and sustain processes that uphold data integrity, promote efficiency, and mitigate risk.

Conduct in-depth audits of complex files in accordance with policy, program, and procedure guidelines, ensuring all documents and entries are complete and accurate.

Raise and track issues and conflicts which compromise Advisor experience, compensation delivery accuracy, operational delivery targets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs); escalates to management where required.

Champion continuous improvement by recommending procedural and system enhancements.

Support manager in elevating team performance by actively sharing learnings and best practices in team meetings.

Monitor team mailboxes and action emails with response/resolution provided no more than 3 business days following receipt.

Fulfill annual fiscal open/close updates and routines as assigned.

Create ad hoc reporting for leadership or business partners, ensuring reporting deliverables.

Effectively partner with cross functional stakeholders by communicating important events, milestones and issues throughout each payroll cycle (e.g. system outages, payroll process start and end, etc.).

As assigned, support Senior Advisors by executing test plans provided against technology changes and providing test results and recommended actions.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have :

Proven ability in building rapport and maintaining client relationships while working independently and as part of a team.

High proficiency with case management issue resolution and conducting investigations.

Experience in time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Capability working in small to medium projects in a lead role or part of a team

Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, macros, pivot tables and formula building.

Nice-to-have:

Experience with process audit and controls.

4+ years of experience in Accounting or Payroll role.

Bilingual French/English.

Understanding of Home Equity and Investment financial products.
