**Responsibilities***
+ Perform high-quality Diagnostic CT procedures applying principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to the patient.
+ Identify and administer correct contrast media per departmental protocol. Use and maintain aseptic technique, accurately draw up sterile contrast media and other solutions.
+ Maintain knowledge of and observe universal precautions and all other precautions resolved by the University of Michigan Health System.
+ Respond to patients' changing physical conditions, such as changes in airway/breathing, heart rate, acute change in level of consciousness, seizure, etc.
**Required Qualifications***
**Computerized Tomography Technologist:**
+ Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Certification and Registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography( R) upon hire.
+ Certification and Registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT) upon hire.
+ Reasonable experience in diagnostic radiography or computerized tomography.
+ This classification requires Primary Source Verification
+ Dependability, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ingenuity, creativity, and professionalism.
+ Demonstrated understanding of all age-appropriate guidelines for communication, positioning, radiation dose, and radiation protection.
+ Must have the ability to move patients safely from transportation devices to and from the CT table. Must be able to move heavy equipment, such as a portable CT scanner.
+ Must display dexterity using fine motor skills.
+ Strong attention to detail.
**Computerized Tomography Technologist Graduate:**
+ Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Certification and Registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) upon hire.
+ ARRT (CT) Post Primary certification should be achieved within 2 years of hiring or transferring, with the initial exam attempt taking place within 12 months of hire or transfer.
+ Reasonable experience in diagnostic radiography or computerized tomography.
+ This classification requires Primary Source Verification.
+ Dependability, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ingenuity, creativity, and professionalism.
+ Demonstrated understanding of all age-appropriate guidelines for communication, positioning, radiation dose, and radiation protection.

**Desired Qualifications***
+ CT Advance Modality Certification will be required within the first year of employment.
+ CT certification and previous CT experience.
+ PACS Experience
+ Proficient computer skills
+ EPIC experience
**Work Schedule**
+ 80 hours per pay period
+ 5-8-hour shifts per week
+ Most shifts are days with occasional evening coverage
+ Rotating weekends (currently every 12th weekend)
+ Occasional On-call (volunteers taken before shifts are assigned)

**Union Affiliation**
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
**Background Screening**
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
