Classification Definition:\r

Employees whose primary responsibilities are the installation, maintenance and repair of services provided to residential and small business customers. May perform installation, maintenance, repair and coin collection of payphone services.

Standard Entry Level Qualifications:\r

An applicant will be considered to have met the Standard Entry Level Qualifications if they meet the requirements of A or B or C as listed below:
 
A -Education
A High School Graduation Certificate combined with one (1) year of completed post secondary education at a recognized learning institution in good academic standing
 
OR 
 
B -Direct Experience
Currently holds the classification of Consumer Service Technician or worked for twelve (12) continuous months in the classification of Business Service Technician, Cable Technician, Consumer Service Technician, Client Site Service Representative I, Client Site Service Representative II, Network Equipment Technician, Network Technician, or Service Support Technician
 
OR

C - Related Training & Experience:\r

Two (2) years of continuous work experience at Bell Aliant and formal training that includes the completion of one of the following:
 
1)Successful completion of all courses listed under any of the following 3 course groupings below (i.e. all of Group 1 or all of Group 2 or all of Group 3):

ABCs of Data Networking (INN1011)
Internetworking Fundamentals (INN1211)

Ability Requirements of the Position:\r

Physical

Climb  poles  on  a  daily  basis (using  ladders,  spurs  and  other  tools)   Ability to distinguish colours  Able to lift up to 70  lbs  Work  effectively  aloft  Ability to maneuver and climb ladders extending up to 28ft. high that supports a max weight of 375 lbs  

 

Skills/Knowledge

Communication skills - verbal and written Computer skills  - Email: Outlook, Intranet/Internet,  Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word   Customer service  skills  Dealing with ambiguityProblem Solving Skills  

 
Other

Successful completion of physical abilities test (as per job demands matrix) may be a requirement of the job   Flying in  helicopters and fixed wing aircraft to remote locations and oil rigs may be a  requirementTravel using various modes of transportation in all kinds of weather  Hold a valid, in good standing, regular driver's license (Class 5)   Flexible to work 40 hours per week including  days,  evenings, weekends and holidays   

 

 

Performance Requirements
Applicant must have a satisfactory performance record (an Achieves or Exceeds rating) on the most recent annual PPA

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
