JOB SUMMARY: The Community Relations Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering positive relationships between the organization and the community it serves. This individual acts as the liaison between the organization and external stakeholders, ensuring that the values, mission, and goals of the organization align with the needs and expectations of the community. The ideal candidate is: passionate about community engagement possesses excellent communication and organizational skills able to demonstrate an ability to coordinate internal and external events able to manage and meet multiple deadlines and thrives in a collaborative environment. Additionally, this role assists with the coordination of events, managing volunteers, leveraging communication tools such as production/video assets and regularly contributing to internal newsletters. ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: (include but are not limited to) Level I: Community Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to promote collaboration and mutual understanding. Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute community-focused events, workshops, and initiatives that align with organizational goals: Sponsorship recognition and brand consistency (online and onsite) In-person activations Attendee information REV team calendar management Tracking and fulfilling community relations/business development deliverables Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for community inquiries, addressing concerns and providing information about organizational activities. Public Relations: Assist in drafting newsletters, basic social media posts, and internal communications. Help distribute materials and maintain content calendars. Data Collection and Analysis: Support the collection of community feedback through surveys. Assist in organizing and summarizing responses. Advocacy: Attend local events and meetings as a support representative. Help set up booths or distribute materials, but not expected to speak on behalf of the organization. Partnership Development: Help maintain contact lists and coordinate logistics for partnership activities. Support internal team communications and scheduling. Level II (Duties in addition to the above): Public Relations: Draft and schedule social media content, newsletters, and internal updates. Assist with press release preparation and coordinate with media contacts under supervision. Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct analysis of survey results and community input. Prepare summary reports and suggest improvements to outreach efforts. Advocacy: Represent the organization at community events or forums. Begin to speak on behalf of the team with prepared messaging. Partnership Development: Identify and recommend potential local partners. Coordinate meetings and assist in developing collaborative initiatives with internal teams and external stakeholders. Level III (Duties in addition to the above): Public Relations: Create and distribute press releases (with occasional pitches), newsletters, social media content/campaigns and other materials to ensure effective communication with the community. Data Collection and Analysis: Gather feedback from the community through surveys, focus groups, and other methods to assess the effectiveness of outreach programs and identify areas for improvement. Advocacy: Represent the organization at community meetings, forums, and events to advocate for its mission and initiatives. Partnership Development: Identify opportunities to collaborate with internal REV teams, local businesses, non-profits, and other entities to enhance community impact and drive business opportunities for REV’s residential and business segments. BEHAVIOR: Upholds and acts in accordance with REV’s Guiding Principles EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with procedures established by the company. QUALIFICATIONS & PREREQUISITES Level I Associate degree or equivalent coursework in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Up to 1 year of experience in community engagement, communications, or administrative support roles. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated interest in community involvement or volunteerism. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); willingness to learn social media and design tools. Ability to follow instructions, support event logistics, and assist with outreach activities. Level II Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field OR 1–3 years of experience in community relations, communications, public affairs relations, or a similar role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with growing confidence in public-facing roles. Experience supporting event planning and coordinating small-scale projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic use of social media platforms; exposure to design tools like Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Ability to gather feedback and contribute to team strategies. Demonstrated commitment to community engagement and internal communications. Level III Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field OR minimum 3-5 years of experience in community relations, communications, public relations, or a similar role. Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in event planning and project management. Proficiency in using communication tools, social media platforms, and software, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with Adobe CS Ability to analyze feedback and implement actionable strategies for improvement. Passion for community, public and media relations as well as teammate engagement through volunteerism and community-facing opportunities.
