Community Engagement and Development Manager
Description We are looking for a dynamic Community Engagement and Development Manager to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to lead efforts in building relationships with donors, managing fundraising campaigns, and enhancing community outreach. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with leadership to develop strategies that secure funding and foster meaningful connections within the community. Responsibilities: • Develop and execute annual fundraising plans in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors. • Identify and cultivate relationships with institutional and individual donors to secure both restricted and unrestricted funding. • Research and pursue grant opportunities from private and corporate sources. • Plan and oversee donor campaigns, including annual, holiday, and major gift initiatives. • Organize and manage special events, such as luncheons, galas, donor gatherings, and community presentations. • Support board members in development activities and provide administrative assistance to the Board of Directors. • Deliver engaging presentations to community groups and represent the agency at public events. • Oversee donor database management, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting. • Track progress and manage the agency’s Planned Giving Program, including bequests and legacy gifts. • Supervise marketing and communication efforts, including website updates and digital campaigns. Requirements • Proven experience in fundraising, donor management, and engagement strategies. • Proficiency in donor database systems such as Donor Perfect. • Strong skills in planning and executing fundraising campaigns and special events. • Excellent communication and presentation abilities. • Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, board members, and external stakeholders. • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including data entry and reporting. • Familiarity with business development and cultivating major gifts. • Experience managing marketing, communications, and digital media campaigns.
