Community Development Coordinator

The Community Development Coordinator will develop, implement, deliver and evaluate educational programs aimed at enhancing financial wellbeing for youth populations. The ideal candidate is passionate about financial wellbeing, learning, and engagement and is comfortable creating engaging financial education materials for students. Skills in building internal and external partnerships to expand the reach of financial wellbeing initiatives are essential. The ability to create materials, work with school administrators, train teachers, deliver content to students, and manage the reporting and data process is crucial.
1) Coordinates with Financial Learning League volunteers to host financial education presentations for youth populations, both face-to-face and virtually/digitally with a focus on high school – 9th through 12th grade. (20%)
2) Utilizes financial education resources, including third-party platforms, and collaborates with internal partners to shape, formulate, and author educational content; defines instructional objectives and methodologies aligned with program goals and state standards; stays knowledgeable about changes to state requirements, creates financial educational resources that are compelling; and assures program quality through monitoring. (15%)
3) Provides high-quality training and support to Financial Learning League volunteers, or nonprofit partners or teachers using the materials. (15%)
4) Retains and recruits external relationships, such as school district administration, schools, educators, education services centers, other credit unions, the Ohio Credit Union League and community non-profit partners, to further the impact of the program and ultimately increase the number of financial learners. (15%)
5) Establishes program formats and methods to meet strategic objectives; identifying target audience opportunities and requirements; and stays well-informed of national and statewide trends and identifies gaps and opportunities to make recommendations for programs and initiatives where relevant. Coordinates and implements compelling and unique interactive programs and initiatives, such as courses, training sessions with facilitators and teachers (teach the teacher), conferences, workshops, financial fairs/camps and other special ventures. (10%)
6) Delivers timely and accurate reports, analysis and statistics regarding financial education endeavors and participants reached. (5%)
7) Represents the organization at community events and internal or external networking functions, as needed. (5%)
8) Collaborates internally with subject matter experts around online education platforms and resources. Manages the online financial education platform(s) and vendor, including promotion of resources to create engagement and increase users/learners, content updates, and online training tools. (5%)
9) Manages the program’s budget. (5%)
10) Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated. (5%)
Required Skills
1) A bachelor’s degree in education, finance, business or related field.
2) At least 2 years’ experience in primary education, college or adult education, or related instructional fields preferred; familiarity with financial literacy resources and tools is a plus; and the ability to teach or facilitate to student and adult audiences in an engaging manner.
3) Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
4) Demonstrates presentation skills including the ability to speak in front of an audience and conveying pertinent information. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
5) Knowledge of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and related requirements a plus.
