General Nature of Work · Provide outstanding customer service · Serve as Public Information Officer and Risk Communicator for the District. · Develop and maintain district Public Information/Risk Communications plans · Develop and maintain relationships with outside agencies and media outlets · Design, produce, and distribute communications materials to staff and the public, including educational and recruitment materials · Design, produce, and distribute videos for training and promotional events · Participate in maintaining the district website · Manage emergency communications during a disaster or emergency event. · Train staff on effective communications with the media and on effective crisis communication · Utilize various social media platforms to facilitate communications · Adaptive and flexible communications style · Responds to Public Health Emergencies Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience in communications or job-related experience. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. (Please mail or bring a copy of College Transcript or Diploma to Interview—must have official transcript prior to start date) Preferred Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communication or related field such as Public Relations, Marketing, etc · Risk Management or Crisis Management Experience · Public Health experience · Knowledgeable in SWGA Culture, healthcare, and economics · Professional experience in webpage design, graphic design of communication materials for various social media platforms, and video recording/editing. · Experience creating school letters and press releases related to infectious diseases · Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish and English) A State Merit Application for Employment must be received by this office no later than the deadline .
