We are seeking a strategic communications leader and consultative business partner who is passionate about integrated communication strategies, energized by change, and skilled at building connections in a complex global environment. This role will provide communications leadership to assigned parts of the Global Commercial Office (GCO), connecting dots and collaborating across operating units, global functions, and regions. This role will balance internal and external/customer communications.

Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, GCO & Global Functions, and you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that support our commercial growth accelerators, and projects that modernize our global go-to-market strategies, partnering on the GCO level strategy and connecting this directly to the assign client groups. You will also build and execute executive communications and thought leadership, partnering with HR to elevate the reputation of GCO, engage employees and create meaningful and impactful communications programs.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Serve as a strategic communications leader within GCO, partnering across directly with assigned leaders and functions.

Develop and deliver impactful internal (and external) communications plans, messages, and tactics aligned with business outcomes.

Advise and counsel assigned business partners, including senior executives, and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization within GCO and outside of GCO across all operating units and regions.

Drive both strategy and execution, establishing clear objectives, and creating content that delivers measurable results.

Leverage expertise in organizational communications to engage and inspire employees.

Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communications initiatives and inform continuous improvement.

Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, maintaining high performance under pressure.

Travel up to 10% as needed.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum 10 years of relevant communications experience, including 7+ years in a people or program managerial role; or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of people or program managerial experience.

Nice to Have

Exceptional writing, editing, and creative skills.

Proven ability to advise and influence business partners, manage multiple projects, and excel in fast-paced environments.

Ability to work autonomously across multiple stakeholder groups to advance the priorities of GCO.

Proficiency in PowerPoint, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and desktop publishing applications.

Experience working within a highly matrixed, global organization.

Creative problem-solving skills and strong business acumen to align communication strategies with business objectives.

Willingness to learn and embody the Medtronic brand voice in all communications.

High level of accuracy, accountability, and organizational skills.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$174,400.00 - $261,600.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
