What we want
The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication initiatives to support undergraduate recruitment efforts, leveraging the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. This role collaborates closely with Texas A&M University Marketing to align communication strategies across both graduate and undergraduate recruitment programs. Key responsibilities include leading retention campaigns from concept through execution and analysis. This involves generating ideas, preparing proposals, managing production workflows, and ensuring timely delivery. The Communications Manager also designs and implements targeted campaigns based on customer segmentation, utilizing both email and direct mail channels through the CRM system. Additionally, this role oversees the execution of comprehensive communication plans for graduate and undergraduate programs, develops data-driven reports to evaluate trends and campaign effectiveness, and plays a key role in managing campus-wide governance of external communications.

Salary: $50,162.00 - $64,480.00 (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience)

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Five years of work experience building HTML emails, working with email delivery and automation platforms including experience in HTML and CSS to build and debug outbound emails, including two years of supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations
+ Expertise and experience in providing advice and counsel to senior management on communication initiatives
+ Familiarity with various platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, website content management, graphic design, email platforms, site metrics, project management and project request tools
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
+ Ability to participate in and foster a collaborative team environment
+ Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Ability to gather information requirements, retrieve accurate information, and present that information in an understandable form (MS Excel, Tableau, or other data visualization/presentation tools).
+ Aptitude and willingness to learn new data analysis tools and methodology
+ Understanding and appreciation for the role of admissions/recruiting functions in a higher education environment
+ Ability to effectively work independently
+ Must be able to operate in a deadline-oriented environment
+ Must demonstrate ability to work with users possessing various levels of technical and functional knowledge, and demonstrate a customer service orientation to faculty, staff, administrators, and affiliated professional organizations
Responsibilities
Manage Communications
+ Oversees both internal and external communications originating from the department
+ Collaborates closely with campus contacts to ensure consistent, accurate, and effective messaging across all enrollment services
+ Maintains a centralized and collaborative communications calendar, along with a comprehensive repository of approved messaging content to support streamlined and coordinated outreach efforts
Create & Develop Communications
+ Designs and produces engaging communications and visual assets to support departmental initiatives across a variety of platforms, including websites, social media, digital signage, and other digital and print media
+ Develops a wide range of content such as emails, presentations, videos, speeches, and social media posts to effectively convey departmental messages
+ Supports the selection and branding of promotional items to ensure alignment with institutional communication goals
Manage Websites
+ Conducts regular reviews of the departmental website to assess and enhance user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design
+ Serves central coordination point for all website content updates, visual refreshes, and overall presentation
+ Ensures a consistent and unified voice across departmental web content while maintaining full compliance with Texas A&M University branding and accessibility standards
Professional Development
+ Continues professional development through attendance at meetings, professional seminars, training sessions and conferences
