**Job Description:**
We are seeking a Communications Manager responsible for managing external and internal communications for the bank in Japan. The role will mainly focus on media relations and internal/executive communications, while also managing crisis communicationandmarketing -related deliverables as the need arises. The candidate will play an active role in contributing to and supporting all aspects of the broader regional Communications, Marketing and Corporate Affairs team in Asia Pacific.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Actively protect and promote the reputation of the bank, it’s purpose and related businesses in target media
+ Proactively identify and execute media outreach opportunities aimed at helping external stakeholders understand the bank’s strengths and businesses
+ Actively promote the firm’s research offerings to target media
+ Regularly engage with target journalists and act as the media expert to internal stakeholders, advising on narratives and engagement strategies
+ Develop and deliver high-quality communications content, including communications plans, talking points, briefing documents, announcements, internal memos, intranet stories, town hall presentations, speeches, and other materials in both English and Japanese
+ Plan and execute employee campaigns aimed at promoting employee engagement and the firm’s focus on being a great place to work
+ Regularly coordinate with teammates outside Japan to ensure global alignment
+ Prepare regular internal reports, while managing external vendors and house-keeping tasks related to media monitoring, subscriptions, PR agency, and other external services employed by the Communications team
+ Support marketing programs including managing updates to the Japanese website
**Skills:**
+ Exceptional track record in corporate communications with at least 8 years of experience within a multi-national financial services organization or similarly complex organization
+ Native Japanese and fluent English language skills
+ Demonstrate exceptional writing skills, especially in Japanese, with a willingness to drive perfection and excellence
+ Understanding of Japanese and international business media with established media relationships
+ An outgoing personality that enjoys developing and managing relationships with key journalists in the financial community and a wide variety of internal partners
+ Enjoy creating stories and content, applying critical thinking to all communications deliverables to help advance the firm’s goals and objectives
+ Understanding of the banking and investment banking industry is a plus
