We’re currently looking for a Communications Lead in the Czech Republic — an open-minded and detail-oriented communicator who is humbly confident, self-driven, results-focused, and eager to grow within one of the world’s most progressive global companies

 

TIME TO GRO

 

You will join the Communications & PR team in the Czech Republic and report directly to the Communications Manager. As a communications professional, you will contribute to the design and execution of external corporate communication programs aimed at raising awareness and deepening understanding of PMI’s goals across all media and communication platforms. You will also lead the development and implementation of high-profile communication initiatives and engagement strategies that support PMI’s strategic vision of a smoke-free future. In this role, you will be responsible for producing the Company’s Annual Report.

To achieve these goals, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across various departments (including External Affairs, Investor Relations, People & Culture and others), helping them craft compelling narratives around their projects and initiatives that resonate with the public.

This position plays a key role in advancing PMI’s smoke-free vision. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and expertise in content creation and production. A well-established network within Czech media will be an asset, helping to strengthen and expand our existing relationships in this important area

 

YOUR ROLE WILL BE T

 

· Contribute to the design and execution of impactful external communication and PR campaigns tailored to the Czech market, identifying and targeting key audiences and driving strong media and social media engagement

· Collaborate with the team members and other departments to develop content and drive media coverage related to activities that are relevant to their area of business responsibility

· Support your colleagues across the organization when it comes to both reactive and proactive media-related topics—from daily media inquiries to sophisticated tasks such as preparation of our Annual Report.

· Take a responsibility of local corporate website

· Measure and report the effectiveness of media relations programs

 

YOU SHOULD HAVE/BE/KNOW:

· A confident communicator and storyteller with a high degree of creativity and ideation

· Possess excellent communication, organizational and planning skills as well as outstanding verbal and written skills

· Energetic, self-starter with strong work ethic and excellent track record of success

· Be proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with an attention to detail

· Be skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization

· Effective while working under stress and ability to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done

· Have an overall interest in political, economic and social developments

· Possess an at least some existing personal network across the Czech media market alongside with outstanding relationship-building skills

· Have an experience working with and managing an external public relations agenc

 

QUALIFICATONS

· Excellent and fluent level of both Czech and English.

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations.

· Track record in crafting various media narratives with demonstrated leadership in driving them to tangible coverage

· Strong ability to ‘translate’ the company’s key communications themes to be relevant to and understood by the Czech media and ultimately by the public

· Know how to balance tactical vs. strategic and be able to develop long-term impact projects while ensuring a diligent follow-up on any short-term task
