Position Purpose:
The Communications & Community Manager is responsible for developing and executing internal communications, supporting community relations, and coordinating events to enhance engagement across the organization. This role collaborates closely with various departments - Operations, Marketing, and Human Resources - to ensure consistent messaging and impactful storytelling. The Communications & Community Manager reports to the Public Affairs Director, so will also support in limited government relations, media relations and foundation work in addition to the responsibilities listed below.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Internal Communications:
Create professional content for breakroom TVs, internal Facebook groups, and presentations, ensuring departmental recognition and priorities are highlighted. Utilize Microsoft Copilot AI programs to produce and distribute HR announcements, digital signage, and presentation templates. Support Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) with internal communications materials. Develop and manage a storytelling program to feature associates and store teams. Provide videography for internal training videos, and in support of Marketing projects. Partner with Marketing Manager on social media strategy and execution. Collaborate with the Marketing Team to improve associate engagement in loyalty apps and programs.Assist in planning and executing the annual Leadership Meeting.
Community Relations:
Coordinate and support store-level and community events, including training district and store teams to host events such as Re-Grand Openings and sponsored community events. Manage event toolkits and swag supplies. Manage community and customer inquiries. Create and update impact reports for each state in the Seattle Division. Support Public Affairs Director in executing Albertsons Companies Foundation campaigns. Support the planning and execution of the annual fundraising golf tournament.Qualifications: The following are preferred:
Education Level:
Degree or training in communications and/or digital marketing. Graduate of the Retail Management Certificate Program preferred.
Experience Level:
Ideal candidate should have at least three years of experience in internal communications, social media, business, and/or public affairs in a large corporate environment or environmental organization with additional knowledge of foundation and employee communications. International business experience or work experience with Fortune 500 consumer products companies preferred.
Skills and Experiences:
Must have experience in working with senior leadership and developing messaging to communicate to internal audiences.
Experience creating messaging with, and training, AI programs. Experience managing events and volunteers. Experience creating social media videos and content. Proven ability to manage positive client relationships and lead cross-functional teams effectively. Ability to develop and build strong internal and external relationships. Energetic, solution-oriented, creative thinker with a proven ability to motivate others, including team members who are not direct reports.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday Store visits involve regular standing, walking, climbing stairs and movement in and around machinery and hazardous equipment, as well as backstage receiving and production areas Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties Position may require some travel (up to 75%), including occasional weekend travel Workday is fast paced and stressful
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 75%+ of time is spent traveling.
The pay range is $80,170 to $98,170 per year. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (between 7-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).
