Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

The Technical Regional Commodity Specialist (RCS) will have to:

Analyze and prioritize purchase requisitions and select appropriate supplier panel

Ensure suppliers are qualified, has valid terms & conditions, etc.

Package and send Request for Quotation to the selected panel.

Receive and analyze supplier questions; answer commercial questions with the help of the Commodity Leader and obtain technical answers from engineering.

Setup and lead Technical Alignment Meetings

Follow strict procurement/process compliance for projects with the US Government or public utilities.

Negotiate the best price, quality, lead time compliant offer from each supplier.

Prepare Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) comparison and select winning supplier, obtain approval for budget savings/slippages from the project.

Prepare the purchase order placement request with price, dates, milestones, T&Cs

Participate in basic and detailed design reviews with engineering and project team to provide sourcing point-of-view and feedback.

Support the sourcing proposal coordinator in the preparation of offers (ITO); propose a competitive industrial plan and validate the relevance and accuracy of the costing of the offer before it is submitted

Monitor supplier performance, assess risks and opportunities linked to the supply chain (Quality, OTD) and develop mitigation plans

Support the negotiation of supplier claims with the commodity leader.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or college technical degree in engineering or any relevant field with 0-5 years of experience in costing, internal sales, technical support or similar.

Knowledge of products in power generation/rotating machines industry

Mechanical/hydraulic domain expertise and knowledge will be considered an important asset

Good commercial knowledge and negotiation techniques

Proficiency in English comprehension

Ability to work in a stimulating and demanding work environment.
