Commissioning Specialist – Port Arthur, TX
Our client is seeking a Commissioning Specialist to work within their facilities located in Port Arthur, TX, for an initial one-year assignment, likely to extend.
The role of the Commissioning Specialist, reporting to the Commissioning Manager, will be to protect the Owner's interests during Construction, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, Start-Up, and Initial Operations activities.
Responsibilities will include monitoring Construction Build It Clean, Pre-commissioning, completion and punch list clearing; execution of Commissioning activities; coordination with Start-Up and Operations team to facilitate Start-Up execution; support the transfer of Care, Custody and Control of the Facility to Operations and Maintenance up to Substantial Completion.
Job Responsibilities: Oversite during execution of all pre-commissioning and commissioning check sheets and procedures in assigned areas in conjunction with related Contractor Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning discipline leads. Attend system walkdowns and inspections to ensure contractor compliance with required mechanical completion parameters and verify clearance by Contractor of prioritized punch items from Completions database. Monitor and assist with the Permit-To-Work and Lock-Out / Tag-Out systems where required. Attend regular safety and SIMOPS meetings and ensure that Contractor is following all required safety practices. Witness vendor / sub-contractor work to ensure completeness of installed packages / equipment Follow the development of the training plan and operating manuals and procedures to be developed by the EPCC contractor and provide input to Commissioning Manager. Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). Required Skills: Computer skills. Ability to understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams. Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, in English. Knowledge of project documentation management (EDMS systems). Coordination, communication, organization skills. Education/Experience: H.S. Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in a comparable pre-commissioning and commissioning role within the oil and gas industry required. 5+ years of experience in mega projects or LNG project experience preferred. #LI-RF1
