Commissioning Manager
Position Title: BESS Commissioning Manager

Must be able to travel 100% to job sites around the US and must be able to work onsite at job sites.

Per Diem is offered and travel expenses are provided to travel back home.

Pay rate is $70-80/hr

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced BESS Commissioning Manager to oversee the commissioning of BESS energy projects. This role represents the project Owner and is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality execution of commissioning activities across multiple sites.

Preferred Experience:Minimum 5 years of on-site support for renewable power generation project startup and commissioning.At least 3 years working for an EPC in renewable energy construction and commissioning.Proven ability to collaborate with engineering and construction teams on technical, schedule, and cost-related issues.Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously.Strong drive for quality, execution, and safety.Required Skillsets:Deep knowledge of electrical construction and commissioning practices (NEC, NFPA).Experience with SCADA integration, E&I controls, instrumentation, and Protection & Controls.Proficient in drawing review, quality control, and progress reporting.Strong computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, PDF editing, PowerPoint, and document control systems.Ability to manage third-party contractors, suppliers, and direct reports.Solid understanding of scheduling and planning.Key Responsibilities:Lead commissioning activities with a focus on safety and quality, in alignment with company/utility policies.Coordinate EPC contractors, OEMs, third-party startups, and operations teams.Ensure reliable operational turnover with minimal downtime.Maintain compliance with contractual obligations including PPA and LGIA deliverables.Interface with Transmission Operators and ISOs to meet energization milestones.Manage onsite commissioning personnel and collaborate with safety, engineering, and QA teams.Perform additional duties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
