At Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah, Commis (Bakery) is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while assisting with food cost controls.

What will I be doing?

As a Commis (Bakery), you will be responsible for preparing high quality bakery items to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Commis will also be required to assist with food cost controls. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nBasic dough preparation.\nTo ensure high productivity and standards of breadmaking and baking are maintained at all times.\nAssist in preparation of pastry, cakes, tarts and breads.\nAssist in preparation of sweets required as per standard in all food & beverage outlets.\nResponsible to monitor and maintain the quality of food in outlets as well as fridges and freezes.\nAssist in requisitioning of food to kitchen.\nPrepare orders for the service team as required.\nAssist the Pastry Chef and the Pastry Team in the daily operations.\nFollow food safety program at all times. \nKeep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination.\nPrepare mis-en-place for all relevant menus.\nAssist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.\nEnsure that all food items are stored correctly.\nContribute to controlling the food costs.\nBe environmentally aware.\n

What are we looking for?

At Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah, Commis (Bakery) is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should possess the following skills and characteristics: 

\n\nPrevious experience in bakery within a hotel environment. \nSolid bakery knowledge.\nBasic pastry knowledge. \nBasic food hygiene certificate.\nPositive attitude.\nGood communication skills.\nAbility to work under pressure.\nAbility to work on own or in teams.\n\n

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

\n\nExperience in the hotel industry.\nPrevious experience working in the pastry department. \n\n
