What will I be doing?

As a Commis 3 in the Hot Kitchen, you are responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality hot dishes to deliver an excellent guest experience. You will also be required to prepare all mise-en-place and contribute to departmental targets.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Ensure consistent, high-quality production of hot dishes in line with the high standards expected by Hilton.

Prepare, cook, and present hot food items within company guidelines.

Perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner to support smooth kitchen operations.

Contribute to kitchen revenue through effective food cost control.

Keep all working areas clean, tidy, and well-organized, ensuring no cross-contamination.

Prepare all mise-en-place for all relevant hot kitchen sections (such as grill, sauté, fry, sauce, and garnish).

Assist other departments and kitchen sections wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.

Report any maintenance, hygiene, or hazard issues promptly.

Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health & safety and food safety legislation.

Be aware of departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team.

Meet all required health, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.

Previous experience as a Commis Chef, Commis I/II, or Apprentice Chef in a hot kitchen environment.

Proven ability to work well within a team and follow instructions effectively.

Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Experience multi-tasking and working in a high-standard or fast-paced kitchen environment.

 

Completion of a basic food hygiene course.

A passion for food, cooking, and the culinary arts.

A genuine drive to succeed in a culinary or hospitality career.

Completion of an accredited commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship.

NVQ Level 1 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).

 

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
