Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Commis 1 will assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. This role requires a keen attention to detail, a passion for food, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic culinary environment. The ideal candidate will have foundational culinary skills and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards in food quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards.Prepare ingredients, including chopping, dicing, and measuring, to ensure readiness for cooking.Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie and other senior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality.Station Management:
Manage and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned workstations.Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness and minimize waste.Monitor and maintain inventory levels of ingredients and supplies for the station.Quality Control:
Adhere to established food safety and hygiene standards, including proper sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas.Conduct regular checks to ensure that dishes meet the quality and presentation standards set by the kitchen.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate food preparation and service.Learning and Development:
Actively participate in training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.Seek feedback and guidance from senior staff to improve performance and advance within the kitchen team.QualificationsCulinary diploma or equivalent qualification is required; comprehensive knowledge of fundamental cooking techniques is essential.Prior kitchen experience is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.Demonstrated ability to maintain unwavering attention to detail and an uncompromising commitment to food quality and safety standards.Proven capacity to work efficiently and effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, coupled with exceptional organizational skills.Deep-rooted passion for the culinary arts, coupled with a strong sense of reliability and willingness to accommodate flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.Exemplary work ethic and demonstrated ability to contribute positively and professionally to a team environment.Additional Information
