Job Description We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Underwriter to join a leading Canadian-based commercial insurance company in a full-time capacity. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep expertise in underwriting complex risks across energy, mining, and power generation sectors. The successful candidate will manage policy terms, assess and analyze risk exposures, and provide tailored solutions to brokers. You will promote and underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements while adhering to underwriting philosophy, rating standards, and loss ratio objectives. This position requires strong broker relationship management, business acumen, and the ability to mentor junior staff. We are seeking a full-time resource with the ability to be in office 2 days per week. Skills and Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in complex commercial risks (energy, mining, power generation, or construction) 5 years of experience in insurance as an underwriter or equivalent Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Familiarity with Canadian commercial insurance regulations and market dynamics CRM designation preferred; CIP also considered an asset
