Commercial Title Examiner
Job Title: Commercial Title ExaminerJob Description The Commercial Title Examiner is responsible for locating and researching records of real estate ownership. This role involves studying mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements. Title examiners must also be knowledgeable about which legal instruments apply to a given estate, including taxes. All reviewed documentation must be summarized, organized, and filed for future reference. Responsibilities + Examine searches and instrument copies. + Clear title problems and prepare commitments. + Examine the chain of title for all title orders. + Identify and resolve title issues. + Determine insurability and issue title commitments. + Perform take down exams for affiliated home building division transactions. + Perform miscellaneous clerical duties and assist local branches in closing transactions as needed. Essential Skills + Minimum 3 years experience in performing commercial title examination on real property. + Experience in title examination, commercial real estate, and real estate law. + Practical knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and procedures governing real estate issues. + Good writing skills and knowledge of standard phraseology and terminology commonly used in title policy writing. Additional Skills & Qualifications + DataTrace experience is highly preferred. + Comprehensive knowledge of the Land Records Information System. + Ability to interpret data retrieved from the computer system. Work Environment This is a remote position with the requirement to travel to various office locations in Florida, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, and Naples as needed.
