The Commercial Product Leader, AI-enabled Assays, is responsible for leading the intersection of scientific strategy, helping clinical trial execution, evidence generation, and computational product innovation. This high-impact role combines full-cycle ownership of AI-enabled product management with field medical leadership to drive value for pharmaceutical and other diagnostic partners.

You will report to the Vice President of Portfolio and Programs within our Advanced Staining and Pharma Partnerships team, with a dotted line to the Chief Medical Officer. You will be based at our global headquarters at Deer Park in Chicago, IL. You will play a critical role in expanding Leica Biosystems’ footprint in precision medicine, leveraging your deep clinical and scientific acumen, execution excellence, medical affairs experience, and commercial savvy.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Own full lifecycle Product Management end-to-end lifecycle of AI-based diagnostic and clinical trial tools by defining product vision and success metrics through deep clinical and user insights, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions aligned with pharma partner expectations, educating HCPs via MSL teams, driving guideline inclusion (e.g., NCCN, ASCO, ESMO, CAP), and leading post-market publication strategies to demonstrate real-world clinical and economic impact.

Project & Performance Leadership, drive disciplined execution and cross-functional program leadership using Danaher Business System (DBS) tools and structured methodologies to meet strategic goals, KPIs, solve complex challenges, and optimize performance against portfolio goals in close partnership with leadership.

Clinical Evidence Generation Leadership, lead the clinical evidence strategy for AI-enabled diagnostics by helping design studies, selecting sites, overseeing performance, and driving evidence generation and publication planning, while ensuring timely and compliant trial execution in collaboration with clinical operations, and integrating clinical outcomes into regulatory, market access, and commercial strategies.

Drive Scientific Leadership, by engaging global KOLs, top academic medical centers, research networks, CROs, and pharma partners; aligning medical strategy with partner goals to shape compelling scientific narratives; and delivering high-impact clinical content at scientific congresses, advisory boards, and investigator meetings to drive product adoption and collaboration.

The essential requirements of the job include

Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD).

10+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or Product Management within life sciences or diagnostics.

Demonstrated success in leading clinical trial execution and product lifecycle ownership, preferably for AI, digital pathology, or computational diagnostics.

Exceptional project and stakeholder management skills with proven results in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

Strong commercial orientation with the ability to translate medical insights into product and partnership strategy.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Ability to travel – 40% including overnight

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Residency training and board certification in anatomic pathology

Prior experience in AI/ML medical devices, oncology diagnostics, or pharma/biotech partnerships.

Formal training or certification in product management (e.g., Pragmatic, AIPMM, PMBOK).

Experience with agile development and medical device regulatory environments (e.g., SaMD, FDA, CE marking).

The annual salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $220,000 - $280,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
