Role Overview
The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of projects, including contract management, cost control, risk assessment, and client negotiations. This role ensures that the project delivers maximum value while maintaining compliance with contractual and financial obligations.
Key ResponsibilitiesContract Management
Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions throughout the project lifecycle.Commercial Strategy & Risk Management
Develop commercial strategies to optimize profitability and minimize risk. Identify and manage commercial risks, claims, and variations.Cost Control & Reporting
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance. Prepare commercial reports for senior management and stakeholders.Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for commercial discussions with clients. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the commercial team, ensuring adherence to best practices. Coordinate with procurement, finance, and project management teams. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Minimum 10+ years of commercial management experience in oil & gas, offshore, or EPC projects. Strong knowledge of contract law, risk management, and cost control principles. Experience with FPSO or large-scale offshore projects is highly desirable. Proficiency in commercial software and ERP systems. Preferred Skills Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
