Description Title: Senior Commercial Lender Comp: $90k-$130k Schedule: HYBRID after 90 days ** 5+ years in banking, lending, credit union, or other financial services company with commercial lending is required ** We are looking for a skilled Commercial Lender to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will prospect for new commercial loans and manage a diverse portfolio of commercial loans, including real estate, construction, working capital, and operating lines of credit. You will also focus on building strong business relationships, leveraging your expertise in credit analysis and underwriting to support our organization's growth and success. Strong candidates will be able to work independently when analyzing financial information to determine business member qualifications for various lending products. Responsibilities: • Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial loans, including real estate, construction, and working capital financing. • Conduct thorough credit analysis and evaluate financial data to assess the creditworthiness of business members. • Prepare financial spreads and underwriting recommendations for presentation to the Business Loan Committee. • Build and maintain relationships with external professionals, such as accountants and attorneys, to create a robust referral network. • Implement business development strategies to attract new clients and retain existing members. • Ensure all lending activities comply with organizational policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. • Cross-sell credit union products and services to meet the financial needs of business members. • Address and resolve collection issues for delinquent accounts while maintaining positive member relationships. • Represent the organization at small business events and functions to promote services. • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance the commercial lending process. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; advanced degree preferred. • Minimum of five years of experience in credit analysis or commercial lending within banking or similar industries. • Completion of a formalized credit training program strongly preferred. • Proficiency in financial statement analysis and automated underwriting systems. • Strong knowledge of commercial lending processes, including appraisals and collections. • Proven ability to develop business relationships and execute effective marketing initiatives. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience speaking at business events.
