Job Description
The Commercial Insights Analyst is a highly analytical and strategic thinker who will lead ad-hoc projects and workflows that provide strategic insights and data driven recommendations that drive business growth and optimize commercial strategies. The scope of work will be driven by the needs of the commercial organization, and the individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain to conduct comprehensive analyses. The role holder will have an ability to research information to underpin analyses, incorporate that research to build financial and market trend models, analyze data with attention to detail and be able to clearly and concisely summarize key findings to commercial management.

This role requires the ability to deliver compelling stories that turn complex analysis into impactful business recommendations across all major functional areas of the ASR commercial organization.
This role leads the quantification and analysis of identified market trends, data and competitive intelligence for the business, and translates information into content that helps shape strategy, messaging and enablement for sales, marketing, and product management teams. Advancement of understanding and impact of changing commercial landscape: Grocery, B2B, Specialty, G-commerce, sugar substitutes, packaging, new product/business initiatives, sustainability, annual marketing budgeting, etc. Converts numeric information into visual outputs via various digital Provide general support and recommendations to all stakeholders during annual business planning process
Responsibilities
Forecasting & Modeling:
Build predictive models and forecasts to support market demand views and individual product and customer performance Lead research to inform modeling assumptions, by leveraging a variety of databases and sources, synthesizing different pieces of information Discern trends, patterns and anomalies to support data and resource-driven forecasting assumptions that translate into forward-looking modelsData Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive commercial strategies. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics Support in the process of customer and strategic item situation assessment, including an up-to-date understanding of customer category trends, to ensure that category risks & opportunities are highlighted
Market & Competitor Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer behaviors, and competitive dynamics. Provide insights into market opportunities and risks to support strategic planning.
Business Partnering:
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to provide data-driven recommendations that improve revenue growth and profitability. Contribute to pricing, product, and promotional strategies with robust analysis and forecasting.
Strategic Insights:
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and present findings to senior stakeholders. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains across commercial operations.
Budget and Internal Performance Management:
Lead the Marketing SG&A monthly budget tracking and accrual process including periodic spend forecasting and variance analyses Support sales channel result reporting and result explanation material development both on an on-going basis and for key internal meetings
Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Physics or other related field of study 1-3 years of professional experience in a role or function that required financial and forecasting model building, ad-hoc analyses, and where work streams are varied, corporate strategy, consulting or internal consulting experience preferred Excellent written, and verbal communication and presentation skills – able to work across various teams and distill complex ideas Self-reliant, resilient, detail-oriented, and proactive with a high motivation to make things happen and to comprehensively research ideas Proven success in utilizing analytics to provide strategic recommendations and drive concrete action Results-oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude and a strong desire to get things done Thrive in a fast-paced and flexible environment with the ability to deal with ambiguity Advanced Microsoft Excel (ex. multi-sheet modeling, Goal-seek functionality, sensitivity tables, and array functions) and other modeling platform skills, knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI Ability to continuously learn and develop both in terms of how to improve work product but also in platform knowledge (both internal & external) Plus: Experience with scripting languages such R / Python
