**Commercial Electrician – Up to $35/hr** **Location:** Capital Region, NY **Schedule:** Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (OT based on project needs) **Project Type:** Large Retail Construction **Job Summary** We are hiring skilled **Commercial Electricians** to support a major retail construction project in the Capital Region of New York. This role is ideal for mid-level electricians and electrical helpers ready to take on significant work across the state. You will work alongside a licensed electrician within a team of 3–5, completing high-quality installations on fast‑paced commercial jobsites. **Key Responsibilities** + Install electrical systems for **large commercial retail construction projects** + **Read and interpret electrical blueprints, plans, and specifications** + **Machine bend 4-inch conduit** with accuracy + Hand bend **1-inch conduit** (offsets, saddles, kicks) + Lay out and install **EMT, rigid, and other conduit systems** + **Nest conduit to ensure clean, professional installations** + **Pull wire and install panels, fixtures, devices, and related components** + **Ensure compliance with NEC** , local codes, and project requirements + Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment + Follow all jobsite safety rules and company standards **Essential Skills** + Minimum **2 years** of commercial electrical construction experience + Experience on warehouses, big-box retail, healthcare, hospital, or industrial projects + Proficient in both machine and hand conduit bending + Ability to work independently on daily assigned tasks + Comfortable working at heights + Willingness to travel throughout New York + **OSHA 10** certification (or willingness to obtain) **Preferred Qualifications** + **3–5 years** of commercial construction electrical experience + Demonstrated experience machine bending **4-inch conduit** + **Strong hand-bending skills up to 1-inch conduit** + **Experience nesting conduit in commercial installations** + **Retail build-out or tenant fit‑out experience** + **Ability to coordinate with other trades on active jobsites** + **Strong time management and problem-solving skills** + **Trade school training or electrician license (preferred, not required)** + **Ability to lift 50+ lbs** and perform physical jobsite tasks **Why Work Here** Join one of New York’s **most reputable electrical contractors** , known for: + Long-term stability and a strong backlog of projects + Work opportunities across commercial retail, multi‑story residential, solar, and service divisions + A culture that values safety, craftsmanship, and professional development + A proven track record of **rarely laying off employees** **Work Environment** + Large-scale commercial retail jobsites with ceilings **20+ feet** + **Indoor and outdoor environments—may be non–climate-controlled** + **Must be comfortable working in varying temperatures** + **Standard hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM** , Monday–Friday + Overtime may occur during the week and occasionally on Saturdays (project-dependent) **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00/hr.
