Commercial Deposit Specialist
**Overview:** Initiate and close sales of Deposit, Treasury Management and other non-credit (lending) products & services. Actively partner with RM’s and other M&T sales professionals in the Commercial Banking, Private Banking and Middle Market segments to acquire, expand and retain targeted customer relationships. Maintain and report sales data & customer data for the Division. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Contribute to Division & Branch success versus annual sales & revenue plans by: + - closing Deposit sales related to loan transactions initiated by RM’s. Participate in client meetings & proposals. + - initiating Deposit sales independently through prospecting and projects/initiatives. Lead client meetings & author client proposals. Collaborate with appropriate M&T Bank partners. + - preparing documentation and following through for proper booking, of sales credit, checkbooks, etc. Following-up with customers to ensure satisfaction. + Facilitate the sale of Treasury Management, MTIG, and other products and services in conjunction with all sales efforts, including efforts to grow balances in existing accounts. + Provide first-point-of-contact support for Deposit related and other non-credit matters for RM customers and customers who self-select to contact the incumbent. Act as an expert advisor for the clients. Resolve client requests and/or issues independently. + Maintain databases and results tracking as needed to support the Division’s sales of Deposit products and growth in Branch balances. Design & create databases in MS Access & MS Excel. Train co-workers to access needed information. + Design, prepare, and deliver scheduled & ad hoc reports regarding Deposit products. Make presentations to Division employees, Division Managers, and senior management regarding Deposit sales and Branch growth. + Establish & maintain good relationships with internal partners such as Marketing, Product Management, Operations, etc. + Promote the success of the Branch versus sales and service quality goals by working closely with RL’s on sales processes, customer satisfaction, and related operational issues. + Participate in Bank wide and Division projects to improve processes, implement new products & services, improve existing products & services, and drive sales success. + Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies. + Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. + Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. + Complete other related duties as assigned. **Scope of Responsibilities:** The incumbent is responsible for approximately 7% of the Branch sales goal for non-credit products. This position carries a VC goal of approximately $1MM in gross contribution. This position interacts with, supports, and shares customer & portfolio goals with approximately 40 RM’s, Senior Managers and related Analysts. The customer base for this position includes 5,000+ relationships, $1B in deposits and $8B+ in loans. The incumbent is the primary or secondary point of contact within the Division for Product Management, Marketing, project managers and other M&T Bank departments. **Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:** Not applicable. **Education and Experience Required:** Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Marketing or four years equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. Minimum of 5 years sales/financial services experience. Fluency in database software such as MS Access. Very strong written and verbal communication skills. Expert level proficiency with MS Word, MS PowerPoint or similar. Expert level proficiency with M&T Bank information systems a plus. Current and historical understanding of the financial services industry is required. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to lead teams and the ability to work as member of a team, as appropriate. Must be adept at developing the skills and product knowledge of others, particularly junior RM’s, Analysts, and RMSP’s. Must have experience in Customer Service, including experience as a decision maker and expert advisor. M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
