**Job Title: Commercial Carpenter** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter with over 2 years of professional carpentry experience. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings, expertise in various carpentry techniques and tools, strong problem-solving and math skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. **Responsibilities** + Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures. + Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials. + Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures/fixtures. + Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment. + Perform framing and rough carpentry, as well as trim and finish carpentry tasks. **Essential Skills** + Carpentry (2 years) + Commercial construction + Blueprint reading + Valid driver's license **Work Environment** Operate in a commercial construction environment, working in teams of 3-10 people on the job site. Normal hours are 7am-4pm M-F, although hours may vary throughout the season and day. The dress code includes boots, jeans, and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. For certain projects, travel to locations such as Ames, Des Moines, or Huxley, IA may be required. If you live close to the Ames shop, you may ride in a company van with other team members. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
