Commercial Analyst
Commercial Analyst Job Description: We are looking for a Commercial Analyst to be an important part of the Commercial Operations team, accountable for building a robust, executable revenue forecast, driven by our business growth plans, and subsequently measuring the performance of plans, identifying areas of success and improvement and as a result, supporting our delivery teams in tracking toward the best possible business outcome. In this role you will be responsible for measurement, deep analysis and clear understanding of what is happening and why, and through that analysis supporting continuous improvement within specified segments of customers, customer journeys, and/or products. As a result, you will support the Senior Commercial Managers in ensuring commercial understanding of go to market activities across stakeholders, alignment to our desired customer and commercial outcomes, and ultimately achievement of our business strategy and goals. Hybrid – 3 days in our Newcastle office (global headquarters) Key Responsibilities: • Support the creation, and ongoing monthly review, of commercial forecasts which are based on our detailed, individual go to market plans and key commercial funnel and success metrics • Maintain a deep understanding of commercial performance and results, in touch daily to ensure a strong foundation and knowledge allowing effective contribution to the preparation and outputs of our weekly and monthly review of performance. Collaboration across our sales, marketing, product marketing and customer service functions is highly important to identify the root causes of performance and the opportunities to improve. • Produce ‘what if’ analysis to support structured, well thought out requirements that feed product, marketing and commercial strategies and optimisations • Contribute to the overall identification, tracking and management of risks and opportunities on a continuous basis, allowing a real time view of future performance enabling highly accurate business forecasts, discussions and timely planning for corrective actions. • Report on the movement of our customer base, volumes, movements, new additions and churn. Work collaboratively across the Commercial function in reviewing implications of that movement for our go to market activities and commercial performance. • Align closely with the BI and reporting functions to ensure that where analysis needs to turn into consistent reporting or data provision that clearly articulated requests are submitted, and support is provided to ensure accuracy and consistency of the outcome. • Operates within and continuously improves the ‘Commercial Ways of Working’, ensuring a simple, consistent and repeatable approach to driving our business.
