We are looking for experienced, innovative and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement of USAREUR-AF and their Mission Partners mission objectives. 

 

CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Command and Control (C2) Database/Server Administrator, Journeyman.  This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, USAREUR-AF and their Mission Partner  

G33 MCSD located in Grafenwoehr, Germany. This position is required to travel OCONUS.  This position is located OCONUS. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities: 

Manages, operates, and maintains Database Management Systems (DBMS) and servers (e.g., SQL) in multiple environments 

Possesses and applies practical knowledge regarding database administration, database systems, servers, and C2 system databases and servers (e.g., GCCS-J, JADOCS), and provides management and maintenance 

Supports applicable DBMS changes to the database structure 

Supports DBMS installation, configuration, capacity planning, monitoring, patching, upgrades, backups, restorations, refreshes, performance optimization, maintenance, setup, and response to alerts and Disaster Recovery (DR) 

Ensures applications, interfaces, extensions, forms, and reports integrate with database architectures 

Provides documentation on managed servers and databases 

Ensures high availability, performance tuning, troubleshooting, change management, and optimization of databases and servers 

Monitors and maintains database health, backup and recovery procedures, and implementation of security measures to protect sensitive data 

Assists with database design and architecture 

Provides recommendations for capacity planning and performs regular audits 

Manages storage and indexing strategies 

Supports database migrations, upgrades, and the implementation of best practices 

Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments 

Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems  

 

Qualifications: 

Required:  

Experience 4-7 years with a BA/BS in related field preferred or equivalent experience considered. 

Possess a Secret clearance with the ability to retain. 

Certification – 8140 - GSEC / Security+ 

Possesses extensive experience in database and server management systems, particularly SQL, across multiple environments.  

Demonstrates proficiency in managing C2 system databases, including implementing database structure changes and ensuring application integration.  

Exhibits strong skills in database administration, including installation, configuration, monitoring, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery.  

Showcases expertise in performance optimization, security implementation, high-availability maintenance, and storage and indexing strategies for databases and servers.  

Displays capability in database design, architecture, and migration, with a focus on best practices and capacity planning.  

Applies advanced problem-solving skills to complex work assignments, operating with significant autonomy in developing methodologies and solutions while demonstrating excellent documentation skills for managed servers and databases.  

Possesses extensive knowledge of network administration, server management, and cybersecurity practices, preferably in military command and control systems.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,700 - 173,900 USD
