How You Will Make an Impact: To ensure that skills are used to accurately tint standard colours and match colour samples to supply a steady flow of tinted materials to the PPG Protective and Marine Coatings Alrode Inland customer base.
Key Responsibilities
Promote continuous improvement at all times in the Alrode SMD(Small mix Department) department and warehouse.
Operate according to companies’ policies and procedure at all times.
Be able to operate tinting machines.
Able to tint standard colours from bases supplied and detect small nuances in colour difference for correction.
Ensure safe operating conditions are always adhered to in the SMD department.
Ensure the first in first out principal of stock rotation is adhered to when picking and moving stock from the warehouse to the SMD department as per the SAP works order and assist in identifying stock that has exceeded its shelf life.
To ensure each works order for tinting is accurately understood prior to commencement of the tinting procedure.
To ensure that all customers are supplied with the correct products as per their order requirements for tinting as per the works orders supplied from the sales department.
To assist, wherever possible, in all aspects of stock control, for example, cycle counts, stock counts and variance follow up and correction on such counts.
To assist with Quarterly stock counts in the PPG Protective and Marine Coatings, Alrode Warehouse and do variance follow up for correction on floor counts to correct the variance report before upload into SAP.
To ensure that all administration duties related to the SMD department are carried out speedily and accurately.
To ensure that tinting stocks are kept in the correct racking locations at all times in the SMD department.
To ensure that all stock movements are against transactions in SAP with supporting documentation for such movements –SAP works orders
To ensure that all tinting pastes that are requested for replenishment in the SMD department are issued out of stock on receipt of such stock into the SMD department.
Assist with the reordering of tinting paste materials as stock levels are deleted in the warehouse.
Copies of all documentation issued and used are to be maintained in the SMD department for future reference.
All brush out cards are to be properly labelled according to the tinted code for future reference.
S H E Responsibilities:
To ensure good housekeeping is kept within the designated SMD department and surrounding warehouse areas at all times.
To ensure that the correct PPE is always worn.
To ensure that all pallets and stock items are handled, stacked and stored in a safe and tidy manner.
Ensure that all spillages are cleaned up safely and correctly and are reported to the relevant line manager.
Ensure that all incidents and accidents are reported to the relevant line manager
What you bring
Minimum of Grade 12.
Ability read and write English.
Two years’ experience in a similar tinting position if an applicant is sourced from outside the company.
A proactive person with good communication/computer literacy skills.
Be able to operate group and tinting machines.
Must have good eyesight.
