Collections Supervisor

Description We are looking for a dedicated Collections Supervisor to lead and inspire a team of collections specialists in Overland Park, Kansas. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage daily operations, implement effective collection strategies, and ensure compliance with regulations while building strong relationships across departments. Responsibilities:
• Oversee and guide a team of collections specialists, including those within the Shared Service Center, ensuring efficient operations.
• Partner with other supervisors to reassign accounts to analysts based on industry alignment.
• Monitor daily collections activities, ensuring timely follow-up on delinquent accounts and proper reconciliation of invoices and chargebacks.
• Implement strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and improve collection efficiency.
• Address escalated collection issues, negotiate payment arrangements, and resolve disputes.
• Generate detailed collection reports to track performance, identify trends, and prepare aging reports for management teams.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, and legal teams to resolve disputes and streamline transaction processing.
• Ensure adherence to federal and state collection laws as well as internal credit policies.
• Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations to support team development.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements • Bachelor’s or associate degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of business experience, including at least 3 years in credit management with increasing responsibilities.
• Proven leadership and coaching abilities to effectively manage and develop a team.
• Experience within the consumer products industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP and strong skills in collections and commercial credit.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
• Capability to manage time effectively and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to challenge existing processes and propose solutions to improve efficiency.
