As a Collections Specialist, you will manage the end-to-end collections process for a designated portfolio of accounts across multiple entities and billing systems. This role requires expertise in account reconciliations, client relationship management, and process improvement within a complex billing environment.
ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, researching root causes, and ensuring accurate resolution and documentation.Interpret and clearly explain complex billing structures, invoice details, adjustments, and payment terms to client representatives and independent business owners.Conduct professional and, at times, challenging conversations to resolve payment issues, negotiate payment arrangements, and reinforce contractual obligations.Collaborate closely with internal teams—including Billing, Risk, Legal, and Operations—to resolve disputes, reconcile complex transactions, and maintain strong enterprise client relationships.Apply in-depth knowledge of billing processes and client-specific requirements to ensure transparency, accuracy, and consistency.Track, analyze, and report on collection performance metrics, escalating high-risk or problem accounts as appropriate.Proactively communicate with key client stakeholders to strengthen relationships and ensure alignment on billing and payment processes.Identify recurring issues, trends, or inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and internal controls related to collections, client management, and financial reporting.Provide insights and recommendations to management regarding collection trends, potential risks, and opportunities to improve cash flow performance.Essential SkillsB2B Collections and strong Excel skillsStrong experience in accounts receivable, collections, or client account management within a complex billing environmentDemonstrated ability to perform detailed reconciliations across multiple systems and entitiesExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial audiencesProven ability to manage difficult conversations professionally while preserving positive working relationshipsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities effectivelyWork EnvironmentThis role requires a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days in the office in Owings Mills and 2 days working remotely. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
