Job Title: Collections Representative

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Collections Representative with business-to-business experience, particularly in lien and claims management. The candidate will handle a high volume of invoices across a $40M portfolio, managing collections for accounts receivable within an assigned area.

Responsibilities

Perform collection duties for accounts receivable in an assigned area.Complete and document daily collection calls and identify high-risk accounts, placing them in suspension as needed.Resolve disputes and negotiate payouts in a timely manner following department guidelines.Identify and document disputes, distributing them to the appropriate areas for resolution.Conduct conferences with sales or customers to resolve disputed items.Conduct monthly meetings to update branch and company management on the collection status of balances.Prepare preliminary lien notices and bond claims in compliance with state statutes.File and record actual lien filings according to state statutes.Review open accounts receivable by project, signing legal documents to waive security rights when applicable.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collection activities and prepare performance reports as needed.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance collection efficiency and effectiveness.Analyze collection data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Essential Skills

2+ years of collection experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.1+ year of experience with the Texas Notice Process.1+ year of experience with lien releases and waivers.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Knowledge of mechanic statutes and payment bond claim procedures.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of experience is ideal.Experience with AS400 system/tool is preferred.Business-to-business collections experience.Lien and bond claims experience is ideal.

Work Environment

This position is based in a satellite office to corporate. The team comprises seven collectors with an average tenure of over five years. The environment is fast-paced, requiring a professional demeanor and a commitment to excellent customer service at all times. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.44/hr.
