Collections Assistant

Description
We are looking for a Collections Assistant who will support the collections department. You are primarily responsible for managing and monitoring outstanding balances owed to an organization. and other administrative tasks as necessary. You will be working on-site Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
• Review collection reports to monitor outstanding balances and assess the effectiveness of current collection strategies.
• Conduct audits of overdue accounts to ensure all collection efforts have been properly executed before assigning them as bad debt.
• Submit delinquent accounts to legal representatives for further collection actions when necessary.
• Organize and maintain correspondence and documentation related to collections activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline collection processes and improve efficiency.
• Provide timely updates and reports on collection activities and account statuses.
• Communicate with clients to resolve payment discrepancies and negotiate payment plans.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and legal regulations during the collection process.
• Identify opportunities to enhance collection policies and recommend improvements.
Requirements
· 2+ years of collection experience needed.
· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teams via phone calls and email.
· Strong numerical abilities to manage account details.
· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and administrative tasks.
· Awareness of legal and company policies related to debt collection.
· Proficiency in using databases and office software like Microsoft Word, Excel and specialized collections software.
· Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems for tracking and reporting collections.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
