What this job involves - At JLL, we're looking for a skilled Cold Storage/Refrigeration Technician to join our team of facilities management professionals. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, and repairing cold storage and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. You'll work hands-on with various cooling equipment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. As part of our facilities team, you'll help create comfortable environments for our clients while contributing to energy efficiency and sustainability goals.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on cold storage/refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, and other cold storage equipmentMonitor temperature controls and maintain proper temperature levels according to facility requirements via Insight (ThermoFisher) program.Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues in cold storage unitsDocument maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status in the company's maintenance management systemDiagnose mechanical issues using testing devices and troubleshooting techniquesPerform preventative maintenance according to established schedulesFollow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines while handling refrigerantsRespond to emergency service calls and prioritize critical refrigeration needsCollaborate with team members to optimize equipment performance and energy efficiencyEnsure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations related to refrigeration systemsRequired Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent2+ years of experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or related technical fieldEPA Section 608 Universal CertificationWorking knowledge of various refrigeration systems, compressors, and controlsAbility to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematicsValid driver's license with clean driving recordWillingness to be on-call for emergency situationsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various physical positionsBasic computer skills for documenting work and communicating with team membersPreferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC/R technologyExperience with building automation systems and digital controlsKnowledge of energy efficiency practices for refrigeration systemsFamiliarity with preventative maintenance programsNATE or other industry-recognized certificationsExperience in commercial or industrial settingsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailOSHA safety certificationEstimated total compensation for this position:
57,000.00 – 65,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
