Short Description
Code all diagnoses and procedures documented in the medical record for the current encounter. Enter all code information in the HealthQuest system for facility coding in a timely manner. Adhere to compliance regulations set by the government, state, & the Cooper Health System to ensure guidelines are met.
Experience Required
0-2 years' experience required.
3-5 years' experience preferred.
Education Requirements
High School/GED required.
Vocational/Technical School preferred.
Health Information Management/Coding/Billing.
License/Certification Requirements
One or more of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, COC, CPC, CCA, CCC, CIRCC, CCVTC and/or any of the Core Credentials or specialty credential of AAPC or AHIMA required.
Special Requirements
Applicant must have demonstrated proficiency in coding multiple outpatient services including, but not limited to:
ObservationMulti-specialty OncologySame Day SurgeryEndoscopyEmergency Department, etc.Knowledge of NCCI, OCE and LCDs mandatory required.
