We are seeking a Code Compliance Officer for assignment in Centennial, Colorado. The selected candidate will perform a variety of technical duties necessary to execute the requirements of the City’s code compliance programs.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
** This position is ~ 90% driving **
** Candidates with experience in enforcement / compliance related work; including investigating allegations, conducting research and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts are highly preferred **
Responsibilities- Monitor and enforce nuisance, land use, property maintenance, noise, junk or inoperable vehicles, commercial vehicles and other codes and ordinances
- Serve as a resource and provide information on city regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, and the general public, along with other city departments and divisions
- Assist junior officers with technical questions, code interpretation and application, and problem resolution
- Enforce city codes and ordinances pertaining to nuisance and land use
- Respond to citizen concerns and complaints and city council requests
- Schedule and performs systematic property inspections to maintain or achieve minimum property standards
- Prepare records and reports pertaining to daily activities, investigations, and enforcement actions
- Compile documentation for and issues summons, administrative citations, request for abatement hearings and any other court action with approval of supervisor
- Testify in municipal court as required
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Drivers License
- Must be capable of personally driving a company vehicle
- Experience in enforcement / compliance related work; including investigating allegations, conducting research and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts is highly preferred
