About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cocoa Beans Logistics Manager to oversee the entire logistics and supply chain process for cocoa bean procurement, storage, and distribution. The ideal candidate will ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality transport of cocoa beans from sourcing regions to processing or storage facilities, while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Logistics & Transportation Coordination:
o Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound transportation of cocoa beans local and imported.
o Optimize transport routes and manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics providers.
Inventory & Warehouse Management:
o Oversee storage and handling of cocoa beans, ensuring optimal inventory levels and proper quality control during storage.
o Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, inspecting, and dispatching cocoa bean shipments.
Supply Chain Planning:
o Collaborate with procurement and production teams to forecast demand and align logistics accordingly.
o Develop and maintain logistics KPIs and reports to ensure performance and cost efficiency.
Compliance & Documentation:
o Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, phytosanitary requirements, customs, and import/export documentation.
o Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and quality control processes.
Sustainability & Traceability:
o Support traceability initiatives and sustainability programs related to cocoa sourcing and transport.
o Coordinate with certification bodies when needed (e.g., Rainforest Alliance, NCP, Cocoa Life, Cocoa Horizons, and others).
About you:
• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or similar.
• MBA or postgraduate specialization in Logistics or Operations Management.
• 10+ years of experience in logistics, preferably in the cocoa or agricultural commodities sector.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
• Proficiency in SAP or other advanced ERP systems.
• Experience with Power BI for data analysis and performance reporting.
• Proven track record in managing complex supply chains and leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing global logistics scenarios.
Additional Comment/ Preferred Certification & Skills:
• Travel requirements: Up to 25 % of the time.
• APICS CSCP or equivalent supply chain certification.
• Courses in International Trade, Logistics, or Cocoa Market Dynamics.
• Familiarity with sustainability certifications (Rainforest Alliance, UTZ, etc.)
