Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring a Coastal Engineer with a desire to work on projects that change the fabric of our communities. Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance. We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in a highly flexible, team oriented, environment and to have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you will work as part of our marine engineering team based in Dubai (or Abu Dhabi).

What You'll Be Doing:

Design of coastal protection structures such as revetments and breakwatersDesign of beaches including groynesDesign of scour protectionDesign of seawater intake/outfall structuresDesign of marinas, navigational channelsDesign of man-made islands, dredging and reclamationPrepare specifications and manage bathymetric surveysInspect and assess the condition of existing coastal structuresParticipate in the preparation of specifications for marine geotechnical investigationsOversee our sub-consultants use of advanced hydrodynamic modeling software such as the Mike21 suite of programsEnsures compliance of marine and coastal design with all applicable codes and regulationsMaintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologiesPrepare technical papers, reports, drawings, specifications, and presentations

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of related work experience in coastal engineering.

Must have excellent English written and oral communications skills, and familiarity with industry practices and regulation

Possesses a thorough knowledge of current marine and coastal engineering design standards and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on projects.

Hands on experience preparing marine and coastal engineering design documents such as reports, drawings and technical specifications.

UAE and/or GCC experience is an advantage
