Co-Op/Internship: Model-Based Design and Control Systems
**What you’ll do:** **The overall purpose of the position.** **Eaton Corporation, Electrical Sector Americas (ES-A)** is seeking a **Co-Op / Intern with Control Systems Specialization** , and preferably with Model-Based Design experience (use of tools like MATLAB/Simulink) to join our organization in Raleigh, NC, and will report to our Technical Director of Model-Based Engineering (MBE). This is a 1-year position. This role will focus on supporting different Model-Based Design needs across the Electrical Sector, encompassing items like: MBD documentation and process creation and validation, refactor of legacy MBD modules, creation of MBD artifacts as part of the MBD library, test of MBD workflows and development of controls algorithms with Model-Based Design with Auto-Code Generation. Recent graduates that meet the requirements are encouraged to apply. International students under OPT (Optional Practical Training) can also apply for this role. Although a full time hire after the internship is not guaranteed, this is a highly visible and impactful role well connected with our ES-A Model Based Engineering Strategy, that can lead to additional opportunities after the 1-year internship commitment. **Essential Functions:** The essential functions that must be accomplished are to fulfill the purpose of the position as described above. + Support on design, documentation, test and validation of MBD process and infrastructure for the Electrical Sector – Americas. + Support Model Refactor initiatives, aiming for high quality and re-usable models that can be integrated on our Model Platform Library. + Test, analyze and Build processes and use-cases around the use of Co-Pilot tools (ex. MATLAB and Simulink Co-pilots) to enable higher quality and productivity of MBD deliverable. + Design of control systems and algorithms using Model-Based Design Process with Auto-code generation. **Qualifications:** **Basic (Required) Qualifications:** + A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or adjacent fields from an accredited institution. + Minimum 1 year experience with Control Systems Design, and use of MathWorks tools, like MATLAB and Simulink. Undergraduate projects and / or Master Thesis also count on meeting the experience requirements. + Must be able to work full-time for 1 year. + Relocation is not provided for this role.
