As a Co-Occurring Disorder Counselor, you’ll provide individual and group therapy in community and home settings, supporting clients in achieving their personal goals. You’ll use motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral approaches, and relapse prevention techniques tailored to each client's readiness for change. Your role will include assessment, treatment planning, counseling, and collaboration with treatment teams to ensure the highest quality care across multiple programs, including ACT/ACT-TAY, ITCD, and Community Psycho Rehab (CPRP).

Key Responsibilities:
· Provide individual and group therapy for co-occurring disorders in community or home settings
· Facilitate group counseling, education, family conferences, and crisis interventions
· Conduct assessments and screenings to identify client needs
· Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans in compliance with state guidelines
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive client care
· Document services accurately and within required timeframes
· Engage clients using motivational interviewing and stage-of-change approaches
· Track client progress and adjust interventions based on readiness and recovery goals
· Educate and support clients in making healthier choices and enhancing daily functioning
· Participate in team meetings and provide clinical input on cases
· Support client transitions through discharge planning and summary reports
· Provide cross-training and support to fellow team members
· Represent the agency professionally within the community
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· Must hold credentials of a Qualified Addiction Professional as defined by the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB), including one of the following:
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CRADC)
Certified Reciprocal Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CRAADC)
Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP)
Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor-Provisional (RADC-P)
Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor (RADC)
Co-occurring Disorder Professional (CCDP)
Co-occurring Disorders Professional Diplomate (CCDP-D)
OR
· Hold credentials of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as defined by the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB), such as:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services field (non-licensed)
Certified/credentialed to provide services within scope of practice
For ITCD Program:
· If under one year of experience, must actively acquire 24 hours of ITCD-specific training and receive supervision from experienced team members
Additional Qualifications:
· Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
· Must be able and willing to work on-call or weekends as needed (Note: CPRP does not require on-call/weekend shifts)
Physical Requirements:
ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
