TotalEnergies is accelerating its global ambition to be a leader in Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) by 2030. As part of this strategic effort, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated CO₂ Pipeline Transport R&T Project Lead to join our Research Center in Stavanger (SRC). This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of large‑scale CO₂ transport technologies in one of the world’s most advanced CCS ecosystems.

About the Role

As the CO₂ Pipeline Transport R&T Project Lead, you will manage research and technology development activities related to CO₂ pipeline transport within the CO₂ Transport & Storage (T&S) program. This strategic position contributes directly to building a full‑chain CCS industry—an essential component of the energy transition.

The big dimension of this position is foreseen to be thermodynamics activities related to CO2-rich systems and testing and qualification of flow assurance tools used for design and operation of CO2 transport systems.

Activities

Key Responsibilities- Act as the focal point for CO₂ pipeline transport R&T activities within TotalEnergies.

- In collaboration with the management of the CO2 T&S program, define, develop, and validate the R&T strategy for CO₂ transport technologies.

- Lead technology qualification activities and contribute to high‑TRL R&T efforts.

- Build project constellations with industry partners, universities, and research institutes.

- Oversee planning, budgeting, execution and reporting of R&T projects.

- Identify emerging technology needs, gaps, and opportunities globally.

- Represent TotalEnergies in steering committees and technical committees.

Candidate Profile

- Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering.

- 10 years of experience as a flow assurance engineer  

- Strong knowledge in thermodynamics, materials, safety, chemical reactions and corrosion.

- Strong communication, coordination and influencing skills.

- Fluency in English; French or Norwegian are beneficial.
